For most builders in the area a home renovation project means tearing down the existing home and replacing it with a new home.

We’re not most builders.  

As lifelong Jersey Shore residents we appreciate the beauty, craftsmanship, history and original architectural detail found in area homes, many of them a century old. 

At DDB we specialize in designing and building homes and renovations that preserve and upgrade existing structures, maximizing the square footage of a home within the confines of zoning regulations. Sometimes that requires lifting a house, moving its location on the property, digging a deeper basement, remediating flooding issues, etc. This work is challenging and sometimes painstaking, but the end result is a functional, beautiful, unique coastal home that our client and their family will enjoy for many years to come. Even when the house in question is not widely considered an architectural gem, we frequently identify value for the homeowner in preserving part of the existing structure and transforming the home. Because if saving some structural components means long term cost savings for our client (and a lower impact on the environment), we’re all in.
